Located in East Asia, South Korea covers a total area of 98,480km2 including both land and water. The country, formally known as the republic of Korea borders North Korea to the north, china to the west and Japan to the east. The country lies on the North Temperate Zone and its terrain is primarily mountainous. It has an active economy that focuses on electronics, machinery, automobiles and robotics. South Korea’s official language is Korean while the dominating religion is Christianity. However, other religions such as Islam and Buddhism are present too.
