Cars production by country in 2016
Which Countries Build the Most Cars Each Year?
By The Market Mogul, Nov. 13, 2017
After what can be described as a protracted period of relative stagnation, the last few years have borne witness to an unprecedented revival of the relevance of the world’s carmakers.
Advancements in both artificial intelligence and energy storage have paved the way for a new generation of entrants to the industry, such as Waymo, Tesla and most recently, Dyson. Dyson is currently weighing up the pros and cons of building its planned electric vehicle in the UK or in the Far East, where there are potential opportunities for cost savings and better supply chain management.
Dyson is not alone in facing this dilemma, and Tesla has recently announced that it intends to open a factory in China – the nation that by far builds the most cars each year. The USA is not the fourth car-producing nation in the world, a fact that undoubtedly fuels President Trump’s ambition to stop American automakers from outsourcing their production abroad.
